Letter to My Friend Nafha

I’ve not been nice to my friends. I am one unapologetic workaholic and many friends and family have expressed concern, complained, threatened to stop calling or writing (a few have actually done that!) but most of them understand my tight schedule. Last week, one of my friends announced that she was leaving Uganda—after 19 years?-- and I didn’t know what to do or say, simply because I never made time to meet this wonderful woman, Nafha, as often as I would have loved to! Dear Nafha, Well, this is going to be a pretty bland letter, my friend. You see, I’m quite sad writing this little note. Ironic, right? How can I possibly be sad writing to a remarkably genuine human being like you? I’m sad because I don’t know what to say to you. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry!
